We have been blessed by the beautiful old buildings that were
provided by previous generations of parishioners at Christ Church. We have the English Gothic style church completed
in 1862, the Federal style Field House from around 1800, and the Outreach Center (a former New York State Armory), that
was built in 1858, and purchased by the Church in 1873.
In recent years, it was decided that in order to
offer better ministry to our current fellow parishioners, and future generations of parishioners, we had a need to improve
our current spaces, and create new spaces. We built our Parish Center and refurbished the Field House about five
years ago. In the past year, the comfortable new Fellowship Room, new Chapel and our Welcome Center were
built. All of these new spaces will help current and future generations to have quality space for the many ministries
of our Parish to better serve our Church Family, and our community.
The Church buttresses were recently finished.
There will also be some work done on the Outreach Center, Field House, and Rectory. We are hoping to wrap
up the major part of the construction by the end of 2007. We will likely wait until mid 2008 to do the outside
work to the Outreach Center in order to attempt to obtain grant money to help with paying for the exterior repairs and renovations.
All this work was made possible by the generosity shown in last year's Capital Campaign by our fellow parishioners.
As of the end of September, much of the work in our church has been finished. We have beautifully refinished
hardwood floors, new carpeting, restored mosaic tile on the altar, walls refinished and painted, and a number of other things
that have been done. Our church is looking more beautiful inside and out!
We are planning on completion of the complete renovation of our nursery by mid October. This will make for a much better
atmosphere for our children to play in.
